Nationwide Builder to Construct 152-home Community
Given the skyrocketing growth the Charlotte-metro is experiencing, national homebuilder Meritage Homes Corp. has selected a tract of land in Denver to build a community of 152 homes.
Meritage’s Director, John Lintner, is quoted saying, “We’re seeing tremendous growth in that submarket.” The vast majority of the Charlotte-metro cannot supply enough homes for demands.
The community will be called Canopy Creek and could see construction begin as early as late-2018. Currently, the site is still being prepared. The homes will be ideal for active adults and growing families. Ranging in size between 1,600 and 2,800 square feet, home prices will start around the mid to high $200,000s.
Amenities will include a pool, a relaxing cabana, and walking trails throughout. Even lawn maintenance will be included. The subdivision’s proximity to N.C. Highway 16 will be ideal for commuters who want easy access to the city but still enjoy the space and tranquility of Lake Norman.
Charlotte Business Journal reports on Meritage Homes Corp. acquisition of the land and the company’s previous work in Charlotte. The Airzona-based company arrived on the Charlotte housing market scene in 2012 and is currently the 10th largest single-family homebuilder in Mecklenburg County.
