Green River Revival at the US National Whitewater Center

For the 9th year in a row, the U.S. National Whitewater Center is putting on its Green River Revival to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day! Every year, the river runs green while the center hosts a 5K, all levels yoga, and a special Irish menu.

Taking place on Saturday, March 17, the 5K starts at 10am. Registration is $35 until March 14 and $42 the day of the race. It is recommended that you wear white to fully enjoy being bombarded by green dye throughout the trail. Awards will be given to both the cleanest AND the greenest participants!

All-level yoga begins at 11am for ages 5 and up. The yoga itself is free but take note of the $6 parking fee. Children ages 6-12 must be accompanied by an adult and mats will not be provided.

Part of the fun of this weekend event, besides the live music and amazing food, is the highly anticipated moment that the river water turns green. VIP tickets are available for $45 and include terrace access, a classic Irish lunch consisting of corned beef & Irish stew and Irish soda bread, cash bar, and premiere viewing for live music.

Aside from the parking fee or VIP tickets for the terrace, admission to the Green River Revival is free! Enjoy the music of Kevin Maines & The Volts and Rebirth Brass Band, watch all the whitewater activities in the green water, bring the family, your pup (on a leash!), and a blanket to celebrate the luck of the Irish in a truly Charlotte way!

Whether you’re new to Charlotte and enjoying your first St. Patrick’s Day in your new home, or you’re a true Queen City native, there’s no better place to celebrate than the U.S. National Whitewater Center. For full event details, visit their website!
