S. Charlotte's Walden on Carmel offers location, affordability
Walden on Carmel is a lovely, older neighborhood of single-family homes in an affordable price point close to all the best amenities of South Charlotte and the Ballantyne area.
The quiet neighborhood is located off Carmel Road where it dead ends just south of I-485 near Ballantyne and backs up to McAlpine Creek. There are no through roads, so traffic is kept to a minimum.
It is only 3-4 miles to Ballantyne Village, Toringdon and Carolina Place/Highway 51. Even though Walden on Carmel is adjacent to I-485, the Johnston Road access ramp is about 3 miles away, as you have to pass over I-485 and take Carmel to Johnston roads.

Being an older neighborhood built in the 1980s, Walden on Carmel does not offer resort-style amenities common in newer neighborhoods. However, the McAlpine Creek Greenway loops around the back of the neighborhood and offers miles of trails.
