Healthful food done fast coming to Ballantyne

Grabbagreen, a healthy, fast-food restaurant chain, is opening two Charlotte locations, one of which will be located in at Toringdon near Ballantyne.

The Arizona-based casual dining chain serves up plant- and grain-based dishes as well as healthy juice options and smoothies for adults and children. It sources its hormone-free and antibiotic-free protein sources from local farms, according to the company web site. In addition, the chain offers pre-made juice detoxes and cleanses.

In addition to the 3429 Toringdon Way location, which is expected to open in February, another location is slated to open in December in Uptown's EpiCentre.

Both locations will be owned by the Charlotte-based franchisee Jeff Adams of JNZR Enterprises, who also has contracts to open 3 more Grabbagreen locations in the Queen City, according to a Charlotte Business Journal report.

Grabbagreen already operates a franchise in each Greensboro and Raleigh and will open 3 more restaurants in those locations.

In total, there are 8 Grabbagreen restaurants in Arizona, North Carolina, Tennessee and Texas.
