Spotlight on Waxhaw's Hunter Oaks & Kingsmead

The desirable neighborhood of Hunter Oaks in Waxhaw is ideally located near the South Charlotte/Ballantyne corridor while taking advantage of great Union County schools and taxes!

The community of more than 900 homes is located off Rea Road near Tom Short Road, just south of Blakeney Shopping Center and adjacent to the Club at Longview. ​

Just minutes from Hunter Oaks is Blakeney, Stonecrest and Ballantyne Village, as well as small shopping centers along Ballantyne Commons Parkway and Providence Road.

Access to I-485 is just a few minutes away at Rea, Johnston or Providence roads. Proximity to all the major thoroughfares makes traveling to SouthPark or Uptown easy via back roads. Rea, Colony, Providence and Park roads are all close at hand.

A commute to the Uptown area will take about 35-45 minutes from Hunter Oaks, and shopping and dining in SouthPark is less than 30 minutes away.

Homes in Hunter Oaks are mostly traditional with prices ranging from the high-$200,000s to more than $600,000. Homes range from about 2,500 square feet to almost 5,000 square feet. The custom home section called Kingsmead has homes priced at $800,000 and higher.

The community was built between 1994 and 2004 by a variety of builders included Ryland Homes, Orleans Homes, Shea Homes and Parker Lancaster.

There is no shortage of neighborhood amenities with 2 pool complex and a water slide, tennis courts, walking trails and playgrounds. The neighborhood crosses over Rea Road, so there is a pool complex on either side. The community also has a very active homeowners association.

Approximately 50 homes sold in Hunter Oaks during the last 12 months, which averages approximately 4.1 homes per month sold.

The average sales price for that period is $412,412 and $123 per square foot. The 50 homes sold averaged approximately 98% of list price.

In Kingsmead, approximately 9 homes sold during the last 12 months for an average price of $794,375 and $169 per square foot. Those homes sold for approximately 97% of list price.

Both neighborhoods are zoned for Union County's Rea View Elementary and Marvin Ridge middle and high schools.
