Neighborhood spotlight: Ballantyne Country Club

Established in 1996, Ballantyne Country Club has become one of the premier upscale communities in South Charlotte/Ballantyne area.

The mixed-use development covers more than 2,000 spectacular acres.

The sought-after community is ideally located for area amenities, not to mention the countless activities available to members of the adjoining country club, including 18 holes of golf on the gorgeous Rees Jones-designed golf course.

Homes in the neighborhood are everything you would expect - elegant, spacious and luxurious. Some are loaded with technology and features that exceed your imagination.

The community and club are just a few minutes away from I-485 access at Johnston Road. The neighborhood is adjacent to a host of shopping and dining options in Ballantyne Village. Truly, the best of Ballantyne is in your back yard if you call Ballantyne Country Club home!

SouthPark is about 25 minutes away for some of the best shopping and dining in the city. A commute Uptown will take approximately 30 minutes without traffic, as will a trip to Charlotte Douglas airport. If you are lucky enough to work in Ballantyne Corporate Park, then you might prefer to walk or bike to work!

More than 2,000 people call Ballantyne Country Club home, and it is not difficult to see why.

When it comes to homes, they are spectacular and stately. The smallest homes are around 3,000 square feet. Imagination and budget is the limiting factor for maximum size of the homes. There is currently a custom home listed that is more than 13,500 square feet. Anywhere from 5,000 square feet to 9,000 square feet is more typical, however. There are also all styles of homes in the club from Mediterranean, French Provincial and traditional to Old World European.

There is also a private enclave of 26 free-standing patio homes in the "Traditions" neighborhood inside the club. Built by Simonini Group, these custom, brick homes are less than 5,000 square feet and offer maintenance-free living.

Prices range from the $500,000s to well over $3.5 million for large, custom estates. You can expect more than just standard amenities in some of these homes. Many have wine cellars, game rooms, home theaters and fitness rooms.
