South Charlotte To Welcome Waverly
The multi use- pedestrian friendly community, located just south of I-485 and Providence is under construction and is targeted to be finished in 2016.
Waverly will include around 250,000 square feet of retail space, including a Whole Foods, Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar, Chuy’s, Chipotle, Novanta Pizzeria Napoletana, Dressler’s Concept, Ted’s Montana Grill, Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt, Firehouse Subs, Modern Salon & Spa, Polished Nail Bar, UltraSkin Wax Center, Ivy & Leo, and Quail Dry Cleaners.
It will also have 60,000 square foot medical office secured by Novant Health, two five or six story office towers, 150 single-family houses and townhomes by David weekley Homes, 375 Solis-brand upscale apartments by Terwilliger Pappas, and a 141 room Hilton Garden Inn with a rooftop pool.
Whole Foods is expected to be open next year with the medical offices set to open later this year. The townhouses will start construction this fall and the upscale apartments should be available by this coming spring.
Charlotte City Council member Ed Driggs, who represents the area, said the $200 million development is expected to generate about 1,000 jobs.
